Terms of Service
This is a translation. If it disagrees with the English version, the English version governs.
What this service does
These terms are between you and the company that operates Vibe Corner. Throughout, “we” means that company.
A buyer posts a brief for a set of app screenshots and names a price. Makers submit work. The buyer picks one, and at that moment we collect the buyer's payment and become obliged to pay the maker. We operate the marketplace; we do not make the screenshots.
Money
The minimum brief is $5. Nothing is charged when a brief opens. Instead, an authorisation for the full amount is placed on the buyer's card at that moment, and the brief only becomes visible if that authorisation succeeds. The funds remain with the buyer's card issuer until a pick.
Each maker appoints us as their limited payment collection agent. When the buyer picks, we capture the authorised amount; payment to us is deemed payment to the maker, and from that moment we owe the maker 85% of it, keeping 15% as our platform fee. We are not an escrow service and do not hold money on anyone's behalf: amounts we collect are ours on receipt, and what we owe the maker is a debt, not a deposit. If no submission is picked by the deadline, the authorisation lapses and the buyer is charged nothing. Payment processing and the handling of card details are performed by Stripe under its own agreements, which you also accept by using this service.
Deadlines
A brief runs for 7 days from the moment it opens, or 3 days for a directed request, which is the life of the authorisation behind it. A brief can never outlast that authorisation. If the window passes without a pick, the authorisation lapses and no charge is made. Nobody picks on the buyer’s behalf.
Submitting work does not entitle a maker to payment. Payment happens only when a buyer picks.
Rules for makers
Each maker may submit at most 3 sets to the same brief. A directed request may only be answered by the named maker. Before submitting you must tell us how to pay you — a connected Stripe account if you are in Hong Kong, or a payout email, payee name and currency otherwise. We pay what we owe you by Stripe transfer or by a licensed payout provider: at once after a pick to a Wise account, or once the amount owed reaches US$20 to a bank account; you are responsible for your own taxes.
You must own or be licensed to use everything you submit, and you must not submit anything unlawful, infringing, or misrepresenting somebody else’s product.
Rights in the work
Until a submission is picked, the maker keeps it. Watermarked previews are shown on the brief so buyers can judge the work; original files are never made public. When a buyer picks a submission and the payment is released, the buyer receives the right to use that work for the purpose named in the brief. Anything beyond that, including source files, is a separate priced request.
Seeded listings
We sometimes fund a listing ourselves for an app we did not build, so that makers can show what they would do with it. Such a listing is marked as unclaimed. We contact the app’s published developer address once work arrives, and the developer may claim the listing or have it removed. We do not claim any association with an app we have seeded.
Accounts and removal
You need a working email address to sign in. We may suspend an account or remove a listing or submission that breaks these terms. You may stop using the service at any time; money already released is not reversible through us.
Disputes and liability
We do not arbitrate taste. The buyer must pick, and the choice is theirs. A payment dispute a buyer raises with their card issuer is handled between us and the issuer under Stripe's process; it does not fall on the maker.
The service is provided as it stands. To the extent the law allows, our liability to you for any claim is limited to the platform fee we earned on the transaction the claim concerns.
Changes
We may change these terms. Listings already open continue under the terms that applied when they opened.
